Meet Kyandra

Kyandra Darling is a proud fourth-generation native of St. Petersburg and lifelong Democrat, born into a family dedicated to public service and making meaningful change.
As a working mother to an 8-year-old son, Kyandra understands the importance of strong schools, safe neighborhoods, quality healthcare, and stable housing—resources every family deserves. In 2024, Kyandra endured the heartbreaking loss of her father, who struggled with mental health and addiction. Relying on her faith, family, and community for support, she found renewed determination to tackle the challenges that prevent families from thriving.
Kyandra started her career in the office of Congressman Charlie Crist and later worked as a legislative aide to St. Petersburg City Councilmembers Steve Kornell and Lisa Wheeler-Bowman. Feeling called to fill the gaps left unaddressed by policy, Kyandra went to work in the nonprofit space, collaborating with over 40 nonprofit organizations that share her commitment to improving health equity, education, and economic opportunities across Tampa Bay.
As OUR Representative, Kyandra Darling will continue to fight every day to lower costs— from groceries to housing—protect our freedoms and rights, improve our local schools, and keep our neighborhoods safe. She will push for accessible, affordable healthcare, including mental health and addiction services. In Tallahassee, Kyandra will advocate for bold, community-driven solutions that uplift working families, not just here at home, but in every corner of Florida.
